Engineer, May 2015 – June 2016

  • Wrote hooks to gradle (build tool) which led to improved efficiency of building mobile applications in the cloud by bringing the build time to less than one minute (20% improvement)
  • Developed and pitched the idea of extending the Unisys Multi-Device Application Build Service to a web based interface to bring in more revenue from small to mid-size business to the engineering VP and engineering directors
  • Submitted a patent document to the law department of the organization on ‘Hybrid Application Build Service’ (invention disclosure status: reviewed and accepted to be filed as a patent)

Associate Engineer,  July 2013 – April 2015

  • Created a build service (RESTful web service) to create cross platform mobile application packages using C#, Visual Studio Extensibility, JavaScript, REST and WebAPI2
  • Redesigned algorithms in the web service which led to 80% improvement in performance (reduced build time of apps)
  • Designed and developed a simulator to run hybrid apps on browser before deploying to mobile devices using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS and Bootstrap which formed the key feature of ‘ClearPath Forward ePortal 6.1’ release
PROJECTS AND HACKATHONS
  • POS Tagger (November 2016): Implemented parts of speech tagging of natural language with graphical models. Won second prize in quantitative comparisons among the submissions from 150 M.S. and Ph.D. students. Python
  • Spam Classifier (December 2016): Implemented spam classifier using decision trees with both continuous and binary frequency distributions. Achieved over 98% accuracy in correctly classifying spam and ham emails for both binary and continuous frequency distributions on a test-set comprising over 3000 emails. Python, Machine Learning
  • Route Finder (September 2016): Developed a route-finder application to find routes between 12,000 cities of USA and Mexico based on user-defined parameters (like minimum-time, minimum-distance, avoid highways, minimum cities, etc.). Python, Graph traversal algorithms (BFS, DFS, A*)
  • Tic-Tac-Toe (October 2016): Developed a tic-tac-toe game for a board size and winning parameters based on user-defined input. Python, MiniMax algorithm with alpha-beta pruning
  • Xinu Operating System (October 2016 – December 2016): Developed modules to implement semaphores and ‘future’ mechanism to synchronise asynchronously produced data, developed an in-memory file system and developed networking modules to communicate with a Linux machine and use ‘future’ mechanism over the network.   • Predictive Search in a Large-Scale Production System (January 2016 – Idea Hunt Mini-Hackathon, Unisys): App to provide 10 most closely related recommendations to a search query using a modification of k-nearest neighbour algorithm (instance weighted approach).
